Applied Management Professionals Program

Are you looking to connect with motivated professionals to
build a strong government workforce for tomorrow?

While addressing the aging federal workforce and supporting the U.S. Government’s human capital recruiting strategy, M Squared’s Applied Management Professionals (AMP) Program connects skilled candidates with U.S. Federal operations to help build tomorrow’s government. These highly-qualified individuals will work side-by-side with you 32-40 hours per week from June through August to achieve your agency’s top priorities. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to mentor young professionals and integrate a new generation into public service.

AMP Program Mission

The Applied Management Professionals Program fosters enduring deliverables and valuable professional relationships between Federal Government executives and highly-qualified graduate level professionals who aspire to careers in public service.

We put our experience to work for you.

M Squared understands that a knowledgeable, professional staff is an absolute necessity to meeting your program mission. Familiar with the challenges of identifying the best candidates, our recruiting process delivers only the most reliable, efficient and capable individuals to collaborate with today’s government leaders. M Squared takes the time to understand your unique requirements in order to match your organization with the most qualified students our nation’s graduate schools have to offer. The AMP Program offers:

  • Professional project delivery at an affordable price
  • Mature communication skills with sophisticated abilities in facilitating collaboration
  • Timely achievement of project requirements
  • Concrete, attainable solutions with immediate and long-term implementable recommendations
  • Focused client delivery with quality assurance

We offer exceptional corporate support.

Our Applied Management Professionals (AMPs), work under the direction of an M Squared consultant to ensure superior project delivery. The AMP Program Team and M Squared President are directly engaged with the AMPs and also available to federal clients for quality-assurance. M Squared also provides AMPs:

  • Training in key skill areas including business process design, project management and strategic planning
  • Corporate mentors to maximize their professional development opportunities during their internship
  • Excursions to the nation’s attractions including the US Capitol and Jefferson’s Monticello estate
  • Opportunities to network with and learn from senior government executives

How do we assure quality support?

A dedicated Team Lead supervises each AMP Program project and:

  • Teaches specific skills and mentors the AMPs
  • Provides oversight for quality and timeliness of delivery
  • Ensures that contractual reporting requirements are met

In addition, AMPs sign an NDA with M Squared, necessary government NDAs,
and an M Squared restrictive covenant protecting intellectual property.

What is the government’s role in a successful AMP Program?

As the Government Sponsor, you play an important role throughout the summer. Based on our past years' accomplishments, we have identified several important criteria for a successful AMP Program. While the AMPs are working on site, we ask that the government sponsor:

  • Clearly define the project scope and objectives
  • Directly engage with AMPs several times per week
  • Provide opportunities to interact with a variety of senior managers
  • Advocate for AMPs and facilitate necessary meetings
  • Secure building access
  • Furnish desk space and office equipment
  • Participate in quality assurance

Projects May Include:

  • Budget and Onboarding Process Design
  • Business Process Design and Implementation
  • Communication Planning
  • Meeting Management and Facilitation
  • Organizational Design
  • Strategic Planning
  • Federal Government Policy Analysis
  • Performance Management
